10 Things We Learned After Week 6 of the NFL Season

1. The NY Jets defense is ELITE and the #1 defense in the league. They are an Aaron Rodgers return away from being the BEST team in the NFL and a true Super Bowl contender.

2. Brock Purdy gets exposed; the world has been waiting for a game where Brock Purdy orchestrates a comeback. Unfortunately for the 49ers, they could not get it done and the Purdy doubters are proven right.

3. These are not the same ‘ole Lions, they are the best Lions team of my generation. A balanced offense and surprisingly good defense that had propelled them to a 5-1 start. This team is a true darkhorse Super Bowl contender.

4. Jalen Hurts looked like a rookie in Week 6, there has been something off about this offense all year. There are some drops, inaccuracies, and at time an identity crisis of what this offense is. The offensive issues were masked by a 5-0 start for the Eagles, but trouble may be brewing in South Philly with the upcoming schedule.

5. Joey B is back baby, the offense looked to be back on track after the Week 5 win against the Cardinals and looked good again against the Seahawks. For me, the defensive performance against a good Seahawks offense was the encouraging factor. The Bengals defense needs to be respectable for this team to make the run, and it seems they’ve turned a corner.

6. The Cowboys redeem themselves after the 49ers debacle. I am still not convinced this team is a contender, the game seemed like both teams wanted to lose. Very ugly and average MNF game, the Cowboys haven’t proved to be a functional offense yet.

7. Dolphins are the greatest offensive show the NFL has seen. Last year the Eagles were an efficient offense but not very flashy. This Dolphins team is explosive, fast, and sexy all at the same time. They’ve been tested once and were beaten pretty badly against the Bills but let’s see how they far this week against the reigning NFC Champs.

8. Very quietly we have a Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year on the same team. The Houston Texans are quietly putting together a good season led by CJ Stroud and DeMeco Ryans. This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for the Texans, but they have proved to be very competitive and in the race to win the AFC South.

9. The Baltimore Ravens win but their offense leaves much to be desired. The Ravens added plenty of pass catchers this offseason, but their red zone issues continue to plague them. Once they reach the red zone, they are still implementing a very run heavy approach, one must question if they trust the QB to make big time throws down there.

10. Cooper Kupp is the best Wide Receiver in the league and there is no argument. The man simply produces when he is on the field. Two games back from injury, he’s accumulated 15 receptions for 266 yards and a touchdown. He makes the Rams offense function.
